Graded shielding

Low activity lead and stainless steel is provided to reduce background count rate to a delete minimum.


High count rates

For high count rates up to 200,000 cps the Malisa Star is equipped with a dead time correction.


Linear pulse summation

Used to enhance the spectral resolution for precise separation of different energy spectra of various alpha, beta and gamma radiation emitting nuclides.


Spectrometer

With individual selectable upper and lower discriminator enable the individual setting of energy regions.


Background subtraction

Enhances the detectability of very low activities.


Bq (dpm) calculation

Different time bases can be selected to display results in cps / Bq or cpm / dpm. For dpm / Bq calculation the efficiency value can be entered.


Digital display and keyboard

Built in module provides visual output and parameter input respectively. All calculations are performed and displayed online in real time. During the measurement the LC display shows the number of counts accumulated over time and the corresponding counting error.


Manual sample draw

Malisa Star is designed to accept standard scintillation vials of 20ml volume. A simple insert can be added to adapt to mini vials of 7ml volume.


Print out

All parameters as well as results can be obtained via RS 232C port.

raytest offers now a Windows PC software for the liquid scintillation counter MALISA Star to control the measurement, to run a spectrum scan, to store data in a data base and the possibility to printout on local or network printer.
