  The FlaSHPro Dyes have a maleimide group that label specifically the cysteine residues in proteins. The protocol ensures a maximal labelling of cysteines on the proteins without a strong shift of the molecular weight as for standard dyes. For this reason you can also use the gels directly on a spot picker without restaining. Furthermore the maleimide-labelling is easier and more stable than the classic NHS-Ester labelling.

Ultra High sensitivity and small amounts: 10 µg of protein can already be labelled. The labelling is highly efficient and allows the detection of 2-3 ng per purified protein band or 1-2µg for complex mixtures. Comparisons with similar dyes have shown that with FlaSHPro dyes quantitatively and qualitatively more proteins could be detected.

Low Background for better signal to noise ratio: The low amount of dyes per reaction and the highly specific binding to cysteine avoid high backgrounds and ensure a better signal to noise ratio.

Avoid cross-talking: The spectral characteristics with sharp emission and excitation peaks allow to avoid cross-talking in combination with a good ccd imaging system.

Low photo bleaching: The lyophilized product and the chemical structure ensure low photo bleaching and avoid quality variations between different colours.

Most Price effective: A scientific decision should not depend on the price, but besides the high quality of the product you can compare the price per reaction between FlaSHPro and similar products and you will see that one experiment with FlaSHPro is still 3-10 fold cheaper
