Biospace Φ imager

real-time bioluminescence and fluorescence with video option

A breakthrough in bioluminescence/fluorescence molecular imaging

Noise reduction

Contrary to conventional bioluminescence/fluorescence systems, the Φ imager technology allows photon counting: each detected photon is amplified to be read separately and increments the corresponding pixel count after discrimination from noise level. Consequently, noise contribution to the image is dramatically reduced.

Easy fluorescence

Continuous selection of the excitation wavelength enables optimal excitation conditions. Autofluorescence is automatically suppressed.

This unique technology means :
No more guessing

Acquisition time or pixel binning settings prior to imaging is not necessary. Φ imager continuously displays the light distribution during the experiment and can be stopped at any time. Bias linked to bioluminescent reaction kinetics are suppressed.

Ultra fast kinetic studies

Signal kinetics are available with high temporal resolution (20ms) from one single imaging acquisition and data file.

Non sedated and freely moving animals

Thanks to its very high sensitivity and 20 ms temporal resolution, Φ imager is the only optical system that opens the way to new applications that require non anesthetized and freely moving animals. An animated video of the bioluminescence or fluorescence signal is registered with the animal.

In Vivo kinetic mode :

A product, producing light is injected in the tail vein of the mouse. The product is initially non specifically disseminated in the whole body, it then reaches the lungs and ends up in the liver.
